The biggest knitting news is that the Rainbow Siddal Socks (ravelry link) are finished. Look! Even the Ravelry project page had been updated! The next project introduction was actually prerecorded so that will be available soon.

I have been working on the Baby [REDACTED]’s Gladiolus Cardigan (ravelry link) for the newest addition to a co-workers family. I am using Red Heart Super Saver yarn in the colorway ‘Real Teal’. The pattern is by Agnes Brandels (ravelry link).

I have been spinning up some singles from the Gulf Coast Native fleece that I carded on my own back at the beginning of the year. Editor Peggy jumps in to the episode during this part, and had additional information to share.

The Gladiolus Cardigan by Agnes Brandels has not been an intuitive knitting experience for me. The cardigan is a top down construction, however, the shoulders and sleeves are picked up and knit at a later point. The odd shaping had some people * thinking I was knitting teal acrylic underwear in public.

A Dieffenbachia plant that had been a rescue from a bog box store had to go back into plant related extra care. Which isn’t great, but part of it is still alive.

In positive news, AP News reported on a meeting that took place on September 1st between Pope Leo XIV and the Rev. James Martin, Co-founder of Outreach, a Catholic ministry that promotes LGBTQ+ acceptance.
