Episode 23 – Level up!

All links to Ravelry are labelled as such. I try to include links to outside websites as much as possible. At this time, I am not including links for purchasing yarns, needles, etc. If I do, they will also be appropriately labelled. As a quick reminder: I am not affiliated with any businesses. If you’d like to show your support of the podcast, please rate and review on your listening device, follow me on instagram, and / or join the ravelry discussion group (ravelry link) if it is safe for you to do so.

Episode 23 – Level Up

Fashionably Riding – 01:38

This episode introduced the ‘Ryanne’ hat (ravelry link) by Melissa Thetford. Her blog can be found here! This hat was made from an alpaca yarn that was obtained by mistake. As noted in the episode, the pattern has some mathematical issues at the crown shaping. In the ravelry project notes, I noted that there were deleted comments on the creators blog that appear to be from people who had issues with that crown shaping.

A chilly podcast host in a Ryanne hat.

Open Throttle – 06:47

Operation Sock Drawer and the ‘Ultimate Koi Pond Meta Socks‘ featured heavily in this segment. The pattern for these socks is called “Meta” by Kino Knits and is using two scrumptious yarns from Kim Dyes Yarn. The main color is ‘Marshmallow’ in the Sourdough sock base, and the colors are from a kit called Ultimate Koi Pond in the now discontinued Croissant Sock base. These socks are now being knit in tandem on two different needle sizes. The main color segments are on a 2.5 mm ChiaoGoo Red Lace circular needle, and the contrasting color stripes are being knit on a 2 mm Addi lace circular needle. The smaller needle size is compensating for the looseness created by dropped stitches in the contrasting color stripes.

Knitting to the beat during the AGDQ rhythm game.

The ‘Wingspan‘ (ravelry link) is now on the first size specific section of the pattern. This shawl is “Wingspan” by VectorKnits (ravelry link) and is in Miss Babs Vineyard gradient on the Yowza Mini (ravelry link) base.

Mom’s Yarn Stash: OMG – 10:56

Tune Up – 11:18

This segment introduces Level 2 of the Master Hand Knitting Certification from TKGA. I share my first impressions, what I am excited to tackle, and what I think I will have difficulty with.

One packet contains so much potential and anxiety.

Scenic Route – 41:57

The Flamenco sustained some damage in a snow storm.

Sad rose. A sad, confused rose.
