All links to Ravelry are labelled as such. I try to include links to outside websites as much as possible. At this time, I am not including links for purchasing yarns, needles, etc. If I do, they will also be appropriately labelled. As a quick reminder: I am not affiliated with any businesses. If you’d like to show your support of the podcast, please rate and review on your listening device, follow me on instagram, and / or join the ravelry discussion group (ravelry link) if it is safe for you to do so.
Fashionably Riding – 03:00
Two sweaters have been pulled out. Two! The ‘Magic Sweater‘ (ravelry link) and the ‘Caledon Fall‘ sweater (ravelry link). The yarn used to make the Caledon Fall sweater has been forgotten to time, BUT it was made for the 2018 Colors Of Fall knit-a-long hosted by The Yarniacs.
The ‘Rêveurs Socks‘ (ravelry link) have kept toes toasty and feet happy.

Pigments of Inspiration: Does the WHY Matter? – 05:59
Open Throttle – 06:25
A lot of knitting energy has been going into the ‘Wingspan‘ by VectorKnits. This shawl is being made out of a Yowza Mini (ravelry link) gradient kit called ‘Vineyard’ from Miss Babs. The first and only color in use is the deepest shade: ‘Muscadine Grapes’.

Magical knitting promises are REAL with the ‘Ultimate Koi Pond Meta Socks‘ (ravelry link). With the first color stripe in, the pattern’s method for working in ends has been tested. Outcome: Success.
Mom’s Yarn Stash: OMG – 12:58
Nuts and Bolts – 13:24
The newest segment of the show, Nuts and Bolts is the educational segment covering what I have learned from the MHK certification process.
Topic: Tension
Tension is just how tightly or loosely one holds their working yarn, and is impacted by any number of variables. Tension that seems even can still create problems for the average knitter. Most knitters resign themselves to a column of slightly larger knit stitches at the left edge of the knit sections of ribbing and slightly larger gaps between garter ridges at the edges of flat knit pieces. Those are tension issues that can and do balloon into larger complications.

To solve those basic tension problems, after working the selvedge stitch as normal, gently tug on your working yarn at the beginning of rows for the first 5 or so stitches. That helps prevent rowing out. When transitioning between a knit stitch and a purl stitch, gently tug on the working yarn before the first purl stitch. That way the excess yarn between the stitches has somewhere to go.

Gauge Rage: Scream into the Void – 26:54
Stalled – 27:04
The ‘Wingspan’ Shawl has some unfamiliar and possibly not-standard notations. A CSSSK was worked in place of a CSSK and set the knitting mistake radar pinging like mad.
The ‘Croissant‘ sock yarn from Kim Dyes Yarn has a couple of weak spots. Color stripes have been ripped out to shore up the areas.
