Episode 65: Sexology in Stitches

All links to Ravelry are labelled as such. I try to include links to outside websites as much as possible. At this time, I am not including links for purchasing yarns, needles, etc. If I do, they will also be appropriately labelled. As a quick reminder: I am not affiliated with any businesses.

Deep Dive – 5:36

This Episode’s Queer history Deep Dive is Sexology, or the study of human relationships, sexualities, attraction, etc. Specifically, this deep dive focuses on a couple of well known scientists in the 20th century; Mangus Hirschfeld and Alfred Kinsey. Images taken from britannica.com. I do not own either of these images.

The combined works of these men and their many associates changed western views of relationships. Time and again, they gathered data, analyzed and published study after study that demonstrated that same-sex attraction is as natural as every other form of attraction. Hirschfeld founded the Institute for Sexual Science in Berlin in 1919, and Kinsey published his seminal works in 1948 and 1953.

Open Throttle – 42:09

The ‘Pride Gauntlets‘ (ravelry link) are my only project at this time. I have used a provisional cast-on using this method by Ysolda., and created a folded hem rather than the beaded picot cast-on. My color blocks are 15 rounds long, and I am using the third method described here; called Slip-Stitch Jogless Join.
